The Prince of Peace RJD #12

I have had a great time looking through my old journals. I found four others in my bookcase. One of them has a series of Bible studies I started at the beginning of 2004. I had transcribed part of them onto disc but I messed up my disc drive. It will take me a while to get them re-transcribed but I will do it.  I found them to be very tender reading this time. They might have perked long enough.

Journal Entry December 22, 1998

A prince is the son of a king. We all know that. The first born son is the one who usually inherits the throne. These are earthly definitions.
In the heavenly realm- the first born is the only born son. His name is Jesus; Isaiah calls Him the Prince of Peace, a very beautiful title. But, what does it mean?
Peace is not just the lack of stress, of noise, of personal upheaval. Peace is best described as a feeling of contentment in spite of our surroundings. Peace can be easily misidentified as not having any problems but if that were true, we’d never have it. Peace is attained only through a right relationship with Jesus Christ, personal peace, inter-personal peace, national peace, and, yes, international peace.
There is only one Prince of Peace and we all need to keep our relationship with Him vital and current.

  1. It's always lovely to sit down and take time to read back through old journal entries. We can learn so much from where we have come from to where we are going. There is indeed only One Prince of Peace. May you have a blessed, peace filled day and week ahead.
