Every Knee Will Bow

“. . . that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow in heaven,
on the earth and under the earth. . . “
 Philippians 2:10

“ . . at the name of Jesus. . .” When God announces His son’s name at the last judgment. I envision a time of people being either terrified or relieved at this time.

“. . .every knee shall bow. . .”.When a person bows, they show respect to the person of higher status. In the United States, we consider all men and women to be equal, so we don’t practice bowing or curtseying as a regular habit.

“. . .in heaven, on the earth and under the earth. . . “Every one—all people, no matter where they are—will acknowledge Jesus’ lordship. Matthew Henry clarifies this section, “. . . the inhabitants of the earth, the living and the dead.”1

  1. If we bow the knee daily, acknowledging His lordship, we won't have to worry about the end of days, will we? Comfort for God's kids.

    1. Rhonda: You are right. Those of His created children who have accepted Him into their hearts will be able to hold their heads up and acknowledge Who He Is without reservation.

  2. Can you just imagine what that will be like? I don't think I can quite grasp it, but I am looking forward to it. Thanks for this timely reminder.

  3. Hello Cecilia, I have a more general comment. I wanted to say I like the word you have for 2014: Hope. Having hope for certain achievements, certain events, certain feelings, we all can relate to. Also your billboard image is a nice one.
I think I will make my own version of something like that to go with the page I wrote about my first e-book. Thanks for the inspiration!
