I wanted a way to describe my writing effort. After much thought, I decided to call it a writing ministry. Next I wanted to give it a special name. In my reading, I found a scripture verse that spoke to me.
“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
1 Peter 3:34 (NIV)
I felt drawn to the phrase “quiet spirit”. After praying about it, I asked a trusted friend about the term and if she thought I could use it as the name of a writing ministry.
I realize that God had been molding me into a quiet spirit before I happened upon the passage. Later, upon the suggestion of my pastor, I ventured into blogging. I wanted people to focus on my ministry and not on me. Therefore, I chose to use the ministry name rather than my own.
When a reader comments on one of my entries or chooses to follow my blog, I respond with a reply to them. I appreciate all who leave a message.
