“It is written: ‘I believed; therefore I have spoken.”
With that same spirit of faith we also believe
and therefore speak, because we know the one who
raised Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus
and present us with you in his presence.”
2 Corinthians 4:13-14(NIV)
We have times when we feel God’s presence with us. In times
of intense sadness, of loss,
of great trial, He lets us become aware of His presence.
In 1998, my stepmother spent the spring and summer in and
out of the hospital. Three times we received calls to go to the hospital
because her condition had worsened. On Labor Day we took her to the hospital
and heard a doctor tell us she might need to go to a nursing home to receive
therapy to build up her strength. Three weeks and two days later, we lost her.
As I went through the days after her death, I felt the prayers of my church
family. Because of their prayers, I felt God’s presence.
I often experience times when a chorus comes to mind and
stays with me a while. As I compose these words, I was led to check our mail
box. I saw it was raining. As I sorted through the junk mail, I had a tune
start to echo in my head. At first, I didn’t have anything but the tune. Then a
few words came. But I feel blessed by the Lord when I have these moments.
Have you felt God’s presence in your daily life?
Yes, so often. This morning it was the song "I Will Rise" by Chris Tomlin, that I heard on my way to work. Even though I heard it actually playing on the radio, it was speaking to my heart internally...confirming so many thoughts from this past week and helping me to focus on what is really important. Google it if you aren't familiar with the words. It will bless you, especially if you are dealing with loss, sorrow, pain, illness, anxiety, etc....reminds us of the great hope we have in Christ..."I will rise, when You call my name...no more sorrow, no more pain..." Amen.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pamela, for your wonderful thoughts. God gives us these heart songs when we need them most. May the Lord continue to bless you.

Deleteguess I have to be quiet and listen..and stop worrying about the election results!!! I have been saying all day, "Jesus, i trust in you, Jesus I trust you..." I know if I keep saying it I will start believing again, and feel peace.
ReplyDeleteAnnamarie: Thank you for stopping in. We have to trust God for the outcome. He loves us and has a plan for each of us. We have to pray for our nation.
DeleteThere's no place I'd rather be than in His Presence! It's where He takes my hand and reassures me that He'll never leave me nor forsake me. It's where I experience peace and an infusion of strength for the day.
ReplyDeleteSusan:

DeleteThanks for stopping in for a visit. God is present even when we aren't aware of Him. I find that one of the nice things about belonging to Him.
