“The LORD does not allow the righteous go
hungry,
but he thwarts the craving of the
wicked.”
Proverbs 10:3 (NIV)
God
provides nourishment for our souls through His Word. He also provides succor to
our bodies through the food His fields produce.
As a
child, I went with my mother to a vegetable stand on the east side of the
county to get fresh vegetables. As an adult, I have watched my hubby grow fresh
tomatoes, zucchini, green beans, and at one time, corn.
In years
past, we have traveled to the area where Hubby grew up and brought back fresh
water melons, cantaloupes, and quantities of sweet corn.
But, not
once did I realize that God provided such an abundance of food for those who
rely upon Him and His Word. He does this because He is faithful and loves each
of His children.
Right
now, I am thankful for strawberries and whipped cream and a husband who fixes them
for me.

These
thoughts are just some of the musings I had as I patiently wait my injury from
my fall to heal.
It is interesting how things in our daily lives parallel spiritual truths, isn't it? So much to ponder and learn from. Thanks for sharing, Cecelia. May the Lord bless and keep you and your family as you move forward in Him.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Karen, for stopping in. Yes, I find it interesting that God still speaks to us through the everyday mundane things we experience.

ReplyDeleteYour husband sounds like a real keeper! I know he is taking such good care of you. Just like the Lord is faithful with His abundance in grace and in food for our bodies. What a bountiful God!
Prayers for continued healing,
Ceil
Ceil: Thank you for stopping in an for your thoughtful comment. A trip to the doctor todaygave me a stronger pain pill. First one gave me a new prespsective on the world. I don;t know if I can take this new med. But it seems to have taken care of the pain.
DeleteI'm glad you're using your recovery time to focus on how the Lord provides. You are a great example to us--not in the falling department, but the thankfulness department! I hope Jesus speeds up the healing process!
