“Be ye transformed by
the renewing of your mind.”
Romans 12:2 (KVJV)
These
words, written by Paul, speak of a way to alter our outlooks. I like the way he
used the words he chose.
Transformed: gives a meaning of a
radical change. We need to see our world positively transformed for Christ.
“renewing:” making something better, refurbishing, improving.
We make
our minds into the states we want to be. Some people believe what they hear
when they hear disparaging remarks about others. Others think it humorous to
talk about perverted subjects. However, God is not glorified in these types of
discussion.
God is
only glorified when we radically change for Him. In our 21st Century, we truly
need a radically changed world. A prayer group I participate in is praying for
revival for our world. We realize that revival begins in our hearts. It begins
with confession of our sins.
Confession,
based on humility, creates the basis of transformation and renewal of our
minds.
Hi Cecelia,
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree with you more. In this 21st century, we do need a transformation. When I see some of the things people post on the internet, I say we have really hit rock bottom. Thank God for people like you who remind us of our need for renewal.
Thank you, Angela. I see the need manifest itself in many ways, Our local newspapers, the TV news, and just hearing about the heartache caused by sin. Blessings on you and yours,
DeleteHi Cecelia! (I really like your image of the flower and the quote. So still and peaceful!)
ReplyDeleteI do think that when we let go of our faults by confessing them, they are tossed away. The grace of that moment changes us to move us closer and closer to Christ. What a great thing! but as you said, humility is key.
So great to see you back here! The dry times have passed :)
Blessings,
Ceil
Thank you, Ceil.
DeleteI love the verse you quoted..."Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind" Something we often forget...to bring about lasting change, we need to be renewed day by day by the reading of God's Word, and spending time with the Lord in prayer. The saying about "garbage in = garbage out" is so true. What we take in is what we will put out. Therefore, we need to focus on God's Word and we won't have to worry so much about what comes out. Praying for our nation and world is important...but we have to begin right here at home.Thank you for this reminder.
ReplyDeletePam: You are so right. GIGO applies to all we say or do.
