Let Us Reach Out

. . . and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem,

and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost

part of the earth. Acts 1:8 KJV

I walked into her hospital room. After she wiped the tears from her eyes, she told me the bad news. I listened and felt at a loss for words.

Her daughter was due there at any time. A close friend of hers had taken the girl to get enrolled in school. I called the other woman so this mother could communicate her desire to have her teenager dropped off at the hospital soon.

The fear my friend feels is real to her. Like her, we become afraid of what we don’t know. In my reading several years ago, I discovered that fear is the antithesis of faith. In other words, fear and faith are opposites.

As we grow in our faith, we grow closer to the Lord. We gain strength and learn to face the harsh, uncertain times of our lives. We learn to look to God for our answers and apply what He tells us to our lives.

I want to see this woman grow in the Lord and gain confidence in who she is in Him. She has so much to give to her family and her friends. I have to hope those who know her can see these things in her.

Lord, please equip us who walk with You to reach out to those who struggle with seemingly insurmountable problems. Guide them through us to the place they need to be. I ask these things be done out of Your grace and love. In the name of Jesus, I pray. AMEN

  1. Amen. Yes, we need to be equipped to daily serve, not so much even in the large things, but often in the small gestures.
    Blessings,
