Strengthened to Have Patience

The Holy Spirit falling on the people.

“being strengthened with all power according to his glorious

might so that you may have great endurance and patience

and joyfully giving thanks to the father, who has qualified

you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.”

Col.1:1112 (NIV)

“Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power,

unto all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness;

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to

be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light”

Col 1:1112 (KJV)

Paul stated he prayed for the people of Colosse. He wanted to see the Colossian citizens to gain knowledge of God’s will fully, be fruitful in every good work, and constantly learn of God and His Will.

Pastors whom God has called and who preach His word desire to see the same for those they shepherd.

God gives His children strength to withstand the trials and tribulations of life. He reminds us that He is with us and protects us from harm. We learn patience through these tests as we persevere.

As we lean on God, we learn of Him. When we learn on our Father, we become more like Him. This is a desirable goal and is attainable as we learn patience.

  1. This same verse in Colossians popped out at me last week! God strengthens us for patience. Wow. I would have thought for power and might and overcoming, but no. For patience. The quality I most need. Thank you, Jesus.
