“The LORD is the strength of his people,
a fortress of
salvation for his anointed one.”
Ps28:8(NIV)
David
continues telling of God’s role in the life of His people. He calls the LORD
the strength—a fortress or stronghold for those who surrender to the LORD.
As
we walk with God through this life, we occasionally face circumstances that
require us to be strong. We can only get that strength from the LORD. He became
our stronghold and our safe haven because of our submitting our hearts and
thoughts to Him.
Believers
in Christ in the 21st Century, myself included, have to surrender their wills
to God in order to gain strength to conquer the issues of our world. Would it
not be marvelous if our world could merge under the banner of Christ, Jehovah-
Nisi, and unite in the cause of glorifying Him?
Our
nation and our world face disruption almost every day. We as individuals either
hear of or face difficulties on a regular basis. The only way we can conquer
the fear that tried to enter our hearts is to seek God, lean on Him, and trust
Him for the outcome.
I think the church as a whole has lost sight of much of this. I know I don't fully embrace everything He is and has done for us. Appreciate you sharing about it. Have a good week! :)
ReplyDeleteKaren: I appreciate your thoughts here. I recently read that the 21st Century church has a tendacy to adopt a cultural christianity rather than a Biblical Christianity.
