March Reflections

After my fall in our kitchen and the injury to my ankle and a bone in my foot, we have been “sheltering in place”.

I have done a minimal amount of writing. I have three beta readings to get to. One is for a woman in our local writing group. The other two belong to writers on a forum that I frequent.

During this mandated “shelter-in-place, social distancing” time, our pastor calls the congregation through a “One-Call, Tell All” service to keep us encouraged. Also, both t weekends our church was closed he recorded a message of the message he would have given had the church been able to meet. The congregants can see them on YouTube.

Our Mustard Seed prayer group has been meeting via conference call. We have met several times during the church shut down.

One praise note we had during this month was that Aaron, the man involved in that small plane crash last October was released from the hospital about the middle of March. He was the only survivor out of the six passengers.

There are a lot of unanswered questions on the minds of the American people. Only God has the answers to these questions? The news this evening is that the social distancing guidelines will be in place until April 30.

Please pray for:
Those who are infected with the Coronavirus
The families of those who have lost loved ones to it
             The first responders
The medical personnel who are on the front lines
Our leaders that they may have the wisdom to make the right decisions

I will try to be more faithful in posting to this blog in April.

Peace and blessings to each of you.

  1. I trust that you are doing better now with your ankle? Been praying for you. I know that only adds to the situation, but I guess if you had to have it happen, this was probably a good time since you couldn't be going places anyway. Either way, I pray you will soon be up and about and back to your normal routine. In the meantime, we are learning to lean on Jesus and trust Him in so many ways. He will not fail us. Please take care. Praise the Lord regarding Aaron! Wow, what a blessing for him and his family.

    1. I am doing better in some ways. This medical boot still weighs 15 pounds. Been cancelling/rescheduling doctor appointments with the ortho place. Rescheduled one today for mid-May. I am doing a Bible Study this month on Psalm 119. It's an online group study.

Are you doing better since your surgery? Peace and blessings to you and yours.

    1. Marja: Thank you for youe comment. I have been doing some devotional reading. Our Sunday school devotional is a booklet by Henri Nouwen. Our church put a devotional booklet together that is awesome. Some members of the congregation submitted to it. The pastor and his wife contacted pastor friends and others from their past churches to submit to it. Peace and blessings.
