Psalm
123
I
lift up my eyes to you,
To
you whose throne is in
Heaven.
The psalmist looks to God who rules over heaven. We must
do the same.
As
the eyes of slaves look to the
Hand
of their master,
As
the eyes of a maid look to the
Hand
of her mistress,
So
our eyes look to the LORD, our
God,
Til
he shows us his mercy.
The writer tells us we must look to God for instruction
and guidance until He answers our pleas.
Have
mercy on us, O LORD, have
Mercy
on us,
For
we have endured much
Contempt.
He begs God for His mercy. We will have times when we
have to plead for His love and grace to cover us especially when we receive
treatment that undermines us.
We
have endured much ridicule
From the proud,
Much contempt from the arrogant.
As believers in Jesus Christ, we receive forms of
persecution—sometimes mild, other times not. We learn to rely on the LORD to
sustain us.
I am concerned that as the days go by the persecution and ridicule of Christians is going to get worse and worse. We must be strong in our faith and stay tuned into God's voice so we can drown out the voices of evil ones trying to hurt us. STay in God's Word, and He will keep us in the right path.
ReplyDeletePam: We have to stay in God's Word and live out those words for others to see. My prayer is the others will see God in me. God has brought me so far from what I was that I don't ever want to let Him down by going back to who I was. Peace and blessings.
