The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their cry.
The face of the LORD is against those who do evil,
To cut off the remembrance of them from the face of the earth.
Psalm 34:15-16 (NKJV)
A Psalm of David
When one who follows God, truly obeys Him, He listens to his or her petitions. God guides them through those circumstances.
However, the LORD looks askance on the pleas of those who do evil. He removes the evil-doers from the memory of those who live on our earth.
Today is the 22nd anniversary of the World Trade Center disaster, also known as 9/11. It is a melancholy time in the United States. There were too many taken to remember each one individually. We remember them as a group and their families.
However, we do not remember the perpetrators. They brought evil to out nation by their nation’s and their religion’s disrespect for human life.
Prayer:
Help us, Father, to remember those who were taken unexpectedly that morning and especially those who chose to keep this disaster from escalating. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen
Praying with you on this day, Cecelia. God bless!
ReplyDeleteMartha Jane: Thank you. Remembering the events of that day always bring me down.
DeleteI am sorry I did not get around to visiting on Monday. This week has been busy in some ways, and I just haven't been quite up to par. 9/11 is always a difficult day for all of us. We pray for our nation to get back to the strength we had after that brutal attack, and for how united we became then. Too much has changed over the years and it is very disturbing. Praying for our nation and our leaders every day. May we never forget.
ReplyDeletePam: I understand about having days of not being up to par. I don't believe our nation will entirely regain its strength. Right after that day, we were ALL Americans; now there are too many factions inside our nation to try to work together to surmount the circumstances we face. Peace and blessings to you and yours.
