Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Jesus Christ. Phil 4:6-7 (ESV)

Do we as humans have times of anxiety? Yes, we do simply because we are human. Certain issues of life can cause us to worry, just for a little while.

We finally realize that we need to pray about that upsetting circumstance. We permit ourselves to open our hearts and tell God about the issue. We lay that burden at His feet. We ask Him to guide us through to the point of resolution. We ask Him for His will.

Next, God takes over and brings us peace. I, myself, have had times when, after I have prayed, the issue no longer seems as huge as it was. Sometimes, the circumstance actually becomes manageable or God takes it from my heart. Then, I have peace that guards my soul.

My prayer for all my local friends and online ones is that they can find peace about whatever plagues them.

  1. Thank you for this prayer today. I need God's peace to help me get through this weekend of gaiety...the Bridal Shower. As the hostess I have much on my mind and I don't want to get so caught up in the details that I miss the blessing of the joy of the party for my sweet new DIL to be. Thank you for this prayer.

    1. Pam: We need God's peace to get through each day. I had an appointment with an ENT specialist today. I have been advised to get hearing aids. I pray they will help me.

  2. One key to peace I've found is to renew my mind by memorizing and meditating on scripture. This enables me to better see who God says I am in Him, as well as what He's provided for me.

    1. Karen: That is a good practice. I try to memorize the ones that speak directly to me. As I begin to see what God means in the passage, I usually find it easier to learn.
