Blog Break
I decided I had to take a blog break for a few weeks. My
plan was to get my house in order. I managed to get a few things done. Mostly,
I needed to get to feeling better. If I do not sleep well at night mornings can
be rough. As I update this, I feel somewhat better than I have.
Our church had its annual rummage sale. I was able to get
a few things sorted out to donate. I found a nice hooded winter short coat. It
is in my favorite color, so I just had to have it.
Prayer Group
Our prayer group spent four weekly meetings going to
public schools, local nursing homes, and two assisted living facilities. We
stayed outside and prayed for those places and all who work in them. At one of
the nursing homes, a man who worked there saw us and inquired as to what so
many of us were doing. We explained our mission. He joined us in prayer and then
prayed for us.
Other Things
My hubby, Jim, said something about losing his memory (It
is not what it used to be.) Also, his legs are bothering him. Our son, Roger,
will be coming home for his dad’s birthday on September 26. (We have not seen him
since Christmas.) I try to keep him informed about what is going on with us. During
this blog break, we had to purchase a new washer. The store delivered it the next
day.
Writing Plans
During this pandemic, some of us in my Sunday school
class have been reading and studying the Psalms. I have taken notes to develop
them into blog posts. Usually, I reserve October for post highlighting the word
I chose it for that year. This year, I plan on devoting September and October. My
word for 2020 has been “Praise”.
I saw a listing online for a magazine that I would like
to submit to. The them that drew my attention was “Suffering.” The magazine
requires 800 words minimum for an article. I hesitated to even try to write on
theme. I finally wrote 926 words for that article. I had to upload it via an
online response form. Due to my fear of being able to write that many words,
I finished it on August 27th, posted it on a forum for critique, edited
it. I sent it to the magazine on Friday, August 28th
Peace and blessings to you and yours.
I pray your magazine article is accepted and published. You must keep us posted on that. Praying also for your hubby and for your visit with your son. You may have to discuss some issues for the future where you may need his assistance. May God give you wisdom in all of that. Your ministry of praying at the nursing home, etc., was a wonderful thing to do. God bless our dear ones in nursing homes. I can imagine it has been very difficult for them and for their families as well as for the staff. Praying for an end to COVID. Amen.
ReplyDeletePam: Thank you for your very kind words. In our church newsletter for this month, the youth director told of the youth travelling to the schools and praying for them. Peace and blessings to you.
DeleteQuite an interesting month Cecelia. I hope your article gets published. And I sincerely hope your husband is not losing his memory, maybe seeing your son will bring him joy!
ReplyDeleteMarja: God is good to us and keeps us covered with His grace. Peace and blessings to you.
