Our Sins Are Covered

Psalm 32:1-6

Verses 1-2

Blessed is he

Whose transgressions are forgiven,

Whose sins are covered.

Blessed is the man

Whose sin the LORD does not count

Against him

And in whom there is no deceit.

When we confess our sins, God forgives us. Because He forgives our sins, He blesses us.

Verses 3-4

When I kept silent,

My bones wasted away

Through my groaning all day long.

For day and night

Your hand was heavy upon me.

My strength was sapped

As in the days of summer. Selah

When we choose not to confess and seek God’s forgiveness, we carry heavy burdens. It is as if those burdens do not let up on us. We begin to believe we are “running on empty.”

Verses 5-6

Then I acknowledged my sin to you

And did not cover up my

Iniquity

I said, “I will confess

My transgressions to the LORD”—

And you forgave

The guilt of my sin. Selah

When we face up to what we have done that displeased the LORD and admit that we have done wrong and that we are capable of doing wrong in His eyes, God does forgive us of our sin.

  1. These are such important truths that are important to know and understand. Too many are carrying around guilt unnecessarily that if they would learn to confess and repent of it, they could be set free from so much pain and heartache. But because people want to hide their "sins", they live in constant fear and agony. Christ came to set us free. Praise Be to God.

    1. Pam: Please forgive me for not responding earlier. I have come to believe that we learn the need to confess and repent our sins as soon as we realize we have erred. This only came to me as I grew closer to the Lord. Thank you for your thoughts. Peace and blessings.

    1. Marja: Thnka you for your comment. I find I gain more out of a passage of scripture if I do study it in sections or verse by verse. Peace and blessings.

cc This is a hymn that came to my mind this week. I became acquainted with it back in 1978. It has helped me through some difficult times....
