This is only a statue representing what the meaning of today is about. I was caught when I saw the words at the base. Uncommon Valor was a common Virtue.
The men who fought for our freedom have had bravery that speaks volumes to those who love our land. We must not forget what they did for us. I wish I had more time to list what they gave up for our freedom.
They put their lives on hold for the sake of our nation.
They changed their plans for their futures.
They chose to obey the orders of their superiors.
Some gave their lives that we could have the freedom to live our lives in peace.

Wonderful words to express what these soldiers did for us, for their country, and for future generations. So sad that the "future generations" seem to have no clue or appreciation for what has been done for them so they can lead the lives they lead. Our nation needs much prayer.
ReplyDeletePamela: Yes,it is sad that the "future generations" do not appreciate what has been done for them. Yes, we need to pray and pray and pray some more for our nation and its people. I am reading A. W. Tozer's "The Pursuit of God". In it he says a lot of things we see in our world. He wrote it in 1948. What we see in today's world has deep roots. Peace and blessings to you.
